Metal slings and webbing slings are the two main categories of slings. The classification of metal slings includes chain slings, shackles, wire rope slings, magnetic slings, hooks, and lifting clamp. The slings made of high-molecular fiber materials generally refer to slings made of polyester nets, nylon, polypropylene, and other materials. The slings for offshore installations are used as the core tool in offshore lifting operations and are used on lifting equipment.
Wire rope slings are general-purpose slings. During the operation of offshore facilities, wire rope slings are used to lift platform personnel, living supplies, engineering materials, and engineering equipment to offshore facilities. Under marine conditions, slings are often affected by unfavorable factors such as rain, sun exposure, and marine weather corrosion. They must be regularly and effectively maintained and inspected to maintain their safety and reliability in daily use.
